Making Science Accessible

As a Research Scientist with a Masters degree and over 15 years of research experience, my passion for the Biomedical Sciences extends beyond my work in the lab and into public communication and education. Both in the form of inspiring the next generation of aspiring scientists and through helping the general public better understand their own health, diseases that effect those we love and by allowing people to better advocate for their own healthcare. The scientific community has long made research and medical topics inaccessible to non-scientist, and has overall done a poor job of putting out information in honest and easily digestible formats for the general population.
My goal in these pages is to provide basic scientific information on topics that inspire me, affect loved ones around me or that connect to a passion of someone in my broader community. So if you have a topic you’d love to learn more about, feel free to reach out directly and I’ll see what I can do to help provide some insight.
Each article is designed to stand alone and provide digestible insight into very complex topics. As such I won’t be covering every bit of nuance, the full detailed intricacies of a disease or immune response and will try and limit the amount of complex terminology and acronyms that I use. If you’d like to learn more depth on any one topic start by checking out the references I link at the bottom of each article, or feel free to reach out for a personal discussion!
